the company will strive to “make products and experiences that people want and can afford,” West said, “to help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel,” and “dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need.. Steve Jobs asking Aaron Sorkin To Write a Pixar Movie [True Story]
STEVE JOBS: Why not?
AARON SORKIN: I just—I don’t think I can make inanimate objects talk.
STEVE JOBS: Once you make them talk they won’t be inanimate.
AARON SORKIN: The truth is I don’t know how to tell those stories. I have a young kid who loves Pixar movies and she’ll turn cartwheels if I tell her I’m writing one and I don’t want to disappoint her by writing the only bad movie in the history of Pixar.(long silence)
STEVE JOBS: Jeez … write about THAT.
AARON SORKIN: Steve—
STEVE JOBS: Why don’t you come up here and let me give you a tour of the place.
(I told him I’d take him up on it and I never did. But I still keep thinking about that Pixar movie.)
“This was a very typical time. I was single. All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that’s what I had.”
