THAT IS AWESOME!
WOW. Last night I had the insane opportunity to see Dave Chappelle do a secret stand-up show at The New Parish in Oakland. 2.5 hours of all new, hilarious material. Security was insane but it was awesome to be in a packed house with Chappelle on-stage. No one checking their cellphone for the time or texting friends or tweeting. It was raw, it was intimate and it was awesome.  He just smoked cigarettes on stage and drank coffee - his kids were watching from the balcony and called out to him a few times. It was a fun night to see him so relaxed and bust out hilarious, original and at times thought provoking material. It was like seeing an old friend just lay out what’s been happening to him for the last few years and you extremely giddy to hear the next story. The jokes are slowly fading from my head but the experience and night is one I won’t soon forget.
