Duran Duran Interview: John Taylor + Nick Rhodes
At SXSW I sat down with a couple guys from Duran Duran and chatted with them about director David Lynch, how technology has changed the music industry and advice for new up and coming bands. It was in promotion of a concert special that streamed on YouTube earlier last week. Check out the interview transcribed below.
Weston (MO): First, just want to know what everyone is asking, where did the...

BRIDESMAIDS (Work In Progress) Review: A SXSW...
At 11:30PM on Sunday March 13, 2011 outside the Paramount Theater in Austin, TX, journalists and bloggers from all over the country strolled from a drunken stupor to the outside of the theater. One ‘badass’ blogger couldn’t shake my hand when I extended it because he had two open beers in his pockets. The crowd was going wild from the celebs on the red carpet. The film...

Movie Review: ‘Take Me Home Tonight’
It might have been the drinks I had before / during the film, but I really enjoyed ‘Take Me Home Tonight’. The key to this film is the performances from the assumed subpar cast and the insane heartfelt moments in the film.
The film, however, runs with my biggest problems in cinema - inconsistency. The scenes that are emotional or funny work - and work extremely well. But then we are forced to...

Why Do So Many Movie Trailers Debut on Apple.com?
It was really the Phantom Menace trailer that put apple.com/trailers into the spotlight. Lucasfilm had posted a rather crappy trailer on their site, the team at Apple was appalled. Through DNS records, the web team at Apple managed to contact the Star Wars web team and set up a meeting. That single trailer showcased QuickTime’s quality over RealVideo by leaps and bounds, and quickly surpassed over...

Khan Academy is an incredible resource. It is a database of video tutorials on, primarily, Biology, Chemistry, and Math. The Khan Academy was founded by Salman Khan, who started out making some Youtube videos to long-distance tutor his niece in Algebra. From there, it has picked up steam and expanded to a library of over 2,000 videos.
